Owner-occupied home subsidy
This state subsidy was abolished on January 1, 2006. However, borrowers who had concluded the purchase agreement for their property or submitted the building application before this date were able to secure the full subsidy. The homeowner’s allowance consisted of the basic subsidy amount (max. 1,250 euros) and the building children’s allowance (800 euros per child). It was linked to certain income limits and was granted for a period of eight years. Payment was made by the responsible tax office on March 15 of each year.
