State subsidies
The largest block of state subsidies – the homeowner’s allowance – was abolished on January 1, 2006. However, home builders can access low-cost loans via KfW loans. Meanwhile, landlords benefit from tax breaks, such as depreciation. In addition, the federal states offer low-interest loans, ongoing grants and guarantees for housing construction.
